Finger Lakes Pet Events Calendar
Shelter Helpers is an engaging in-person initiative curated especially for students seeking community service opportunities. Designed for young animal enthusiasts aged 8 to 16, Shelter Helpers offers a platform to explore various ways to support animals without a home.
Participants will have the opportunity to craft various enrichment toys, develop adoption promotional materials, and contribute to maintaining clean shelter surroundings. Plus, they will get a chance to spend quality time socializing with animals!
*Program hours qualify as community service hours.
Cost: $25
Eligibility Criteria:
Participants must be between 8 and 16 years of age.
It’s essential to be punctual and participate for the complete session duration.
Respect for all life forms (including humans) is mandatory!
Program Specifics:
Morning sessions (10 a.m. – 12 p.m.) are earmarked for participants aged 8-11 years.
Afternoon sessions (1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.) are set aside for participants aged 12-16 years.
Each session will host between 5-10 students.
Pre-registration is a must.
Guardians are required to drop off and pick up participants at the Training and Education Center entrance.
Participants should dress in clothes they don’t mind getting dirty and wear closed-toe, rubber-soled shoes.
